MMOS Faction

When MAG comes out everyone in MMOS has to join the same faction to play together. I just want to know what everyone thinks when it comes to choosing our clans official faction.

The factions are: Raven, Valor, SVER.


Raven:
The high-tech soldiers dressed in sleek black armor with slightly futuristic weaponry. (Good for Halo and Resistance players)

Valor:
The tough G.I. type soldiers dressed in various camo, but essentially look like men from the U.S. Army or Marines. (Good for Call of Duty and Battlefield players)

SVER: The low-tech (supposedly middle-eastern) faction that uses weapons that aren't as advanced as the other factions but the soldiers are "more adaptable". (Comparable to the guys from STALKER)


I personally think that Valor is best suited for our particular clan, but I'd like to hear your opinions. We have a lot of time to figure stuff like this out, so no need to worry about it too much.

Well I have to say that you took me completely off Raven by saying Good for Halo or Resistance Players. Now i'm still considering SVER and SVER will probably be my choice if Valor does not have the M14 but for now My choice is Valor aswell.

I will look into the weaponry of each faction to find out about your beloved M14.

i do like ravenn more then the rest (no offense) but i wouldnt mind beeing valor...

Raven does look cool, but I don't want to use such advanced weaponry, it wouldn't be fun for me. (No offence? lol)

Yeah, I played the beta the first day it started. I didn't really like Valor, so then I tried SVER and it was way more fun. Overall the game is okay, but not great.

JUST OKAY? no, no it's awesome after playing like 4 hours on the public beta.

As for our faction, i wanted valor at first for the m14 but I then found that valor characters and everything else about them looks SOOOOO generic what with those stupid characters with muscle shirts on. Ya ya I know you can change it but each character has their fucking muscles sticking out of their armor which looks really gay.

I'm opting for S.V.E.R because they r rebellious like me and are hardened fighters.

Raven would be ok and at first I thought their weaponry would be all futuristicy and all but it's really more modern day like 2010 weapons.

It's like S.V.E.R's weapons are 40's 50's and 60's russian weapons. Which is awesome

Meh, I doubt I'm even going to buy the game, it just disappointed me.

Yeah, I hear ya. Everything is too dark and all the people are near invisible since they're the same color as the background.

OMG do you two have vision problems? It's SOOOO easy to play and flows great.

Actually I do, but that's besides the point. The game just didn't appeal to me really.

I played the beta and picked Valor . It was okay i guess but im going to buy it when it comes out and i want to be in the S.V.E.R.

Yeah, SVER = win.

The only thing I know about this game is that there are going to be a ton of people playing at once. I like that so long as the map/environment is sized accordingly.

The otther Massive game I used to play (World War II Online) had a map that was out of this world. If you were a pilot, you literally took off in Germany and flew alll the way to France to drop your bombs. Meanwhile, you were flying over dozens of towns with fighting going on in each one. It wasn't one big battle, it was dozens of localized skirmishes going on all at the same time. And if you won control of a town...some stayed to defend the town until it was no longer on the front line....while others piled into trucks and headed for the new front line town (where the losers got backed up to) It was awesome....because it wasn't a meat grinder...it was like a real war.

If they're just going to pack 256 players into one big battle....no thanks.

I've been playing a lot of Fallout 3 lately after it was picked as one of the best all time games for single players. It's prety cool..tons of social interaction, buying and selling stuff, killing lots of things and people, missions you need to complete to keep progressing, and a huge map with a lot to explore. Great for single player activity.

However, I do love to play as a group and am really looking forward to "Homefront" ( http://www.homefront-game.com ) I have no idea if it'll be any good...but I like the storyline.

Wow, that World War II online sounds pretty cool, but unfortunately, MAG is not like that at all. Basically, they cram 256 players into a map that is smaller than most BC maps. You'd think that with so many people, the game would be more tactical, but it really isn't.

wow. this is my first time on in months and srry bout tthat. but the fact that our clan is getting into mag got me interested even more. so i agree i think valor is the road to go.

WWII Online is a PC based "subscription game. It's pretty sweet....ans as far as I know there's no limit to the number of players.

I couldn't find it when I looked (may have to actually subscribe) but there used to be a counter at the top of the campaign map to show how many people were currently playing for each side. I disctinctly remember times when there were several thousand on each side.

but as I said before, you might choose to spawn into a town where there is only about 50 people playing. you might think that it's a trick...that you're not really in the same environment at all with the thousands of other players...but if you can jump into a truck and head off in any given direction and you'll run into another town where a whole other group is doing battle. It's the same environment...it's just that the towns are seperated by miles of roadway and open fields. It can take 10 minutes in a truck just to get to the next town.

But there are only so many tanks, trucks, jeeps, etc...in each town/base/spawn point. So if they are all taken...you either have to play as infantry or spawn into a nearby town...get a tank...and hit the road.

It was very common for entire convoys of tanks along with support trucks full of infantry to run into each other in some field between towns and go to battle there.

The big downside is that you have to decide if you're going to be a driver/pilot/etc when you spawn in. You can't jump in and out like BF games. You can ride...in a truck or jeep...if you come in as infantry...but then you can't drive. And if you drive...you can't get out...even if you're about to be destroyed.

Infantry can also load up in the back of large aircraft and parachute out over a battlefield...but the pilot has to go down with the plane. Same for boats....

Looks cool , im dling it right now and i will probably try it tonight , my only hope is that my RAM will handle the game ( i have the minimal requirements for that ) but anyway , about M.A.G.

i repeat.. i want S.V.E.R. because they just look the coolest and i got that special uniform from when you pre-order the game , eheh

MAG was one the biggest dissappointments to me this year because it is not even fun, and the graphics and gameplay suck!

Good for you? MAG is old news.
